This is a blog about Alkhemi Jones, everything Alkhemi, but that doesn't mean I can't highlight those I hold close to me. Hi, I'm Alkhemi. I'm an entertainer, songwriter, musician singer. What have I been up to? I don't know where to begin. First I want to say that sometimes when people or things aren't meant for you, you gotta let them go. Alkhemi Jones stopped dealing with THE FIRM with Kevin Shine in November of 2010. That's all I'm gonna say about that. Next... Shortly after a very short encounter with those who will remain nameless, I linked up with a very beautiful soul. His name is Drae Jackson. Who is this man? He is an extraordinary person. He currently manages a lot of acts some we all know, some we have heard of but most importantly, he's spear heading my ish. I love him, He's the motha-effin best. So I'm currently on the road with Nappy Roots. Nappy Roots? you might ask. Yes Nappy Roots, you have Vito Banga, Fish Scales, Skinny Deville, Clutch, and Rello. *waves* at Rello thats my buddy. They are sooooooo... (for lack of a better word) *COOL* I just got off the road with them boyz and let me just tell you, they are dope. I've learned a lot from them, in such little time. Like, how to be a "playa". Nah just kidding. No shorts, they have made me feel right at home and I appreciate the love and the support. Tonight, I was able to witness another guy who I am blessed to call fam, his name is ALEON CRAFT!!!!! The mothership of Decatur has arrived and he came out of it with his cloak on. I really do like his music, if you haven't checked him out, check him out now, he's about to be adopted as my big brother in like.... 3,2,1 seconds... play his stuff and let me know what you think.

When I was out tonight, I wasn't sure what to expect... I'm lyin, I been on the road with him before so I knew he'd put on a stellar show. I'm just sayin... Ya'll bedda recognize the real and support INDEPENDENT MUSIC!!!! We takin ova, one line at a time. I on the other hand now have music that's available for download... it's called :Dreamin: and it's on ITUNES. I don't have a job craig, this is how I make my living and I wouldn't have it any other way. I thank all of who support good music and most importantly, looking out for me. Rising From The Ashes.

It's been awhile since I've actually done anything in my hometown. I must say I had a moment this past week to work with some wonderfilled musicians all on the stage of the South Dallas Cultural Center in Dallas, TX. It happened on the 27th of November. I had a blast.... literally.... from the past.
The band I performed with was FLY!!! as maryjane on the back porch in the cool fall air and the people that held be me down on the - b.g - vocals were great i.e Mahogany and Rolex. Pristine in names I must say. "Girlz Roc!"
Reciprocity Live was a success thanks to the inner workings of Tisha, Aziz and Emanuel's cookies. He made the best vegan cookie treats that side of the mississippi and even tho I've grown up, his cookies definitely haven't changed. I was happy to have coped the last vegan cookie for the evening.... *applauds self*
I got the rare availability to hang out with an old and dear friend while I was there. Emotion - Stella Neptunes- Brown.
What ya'll know about her?
This girl inspires me to keep it going. She's doin big things... ya'll google her name. Emotion Brown and see what you find. But most importantly, she opened up her home to me and made her space mine and showed me sides of Dallas I really had no idea cultivated there. I ate some vegan cheese while with her that almost converted me back to being a vegan. I said "almost" lol.
I have pictures and more coming from my time in Dallas eventually as soon as people send them to me. haaaa but I just wanted to share with you the experience that I had.
So while I was at home I did a photo shoot... uh-oh strike a pose (vogue) That's right with a wonderfilled makeup artist named Traci Moore. She's Oh Em Gee Dope... please check this site for some behind the scenes shots.

Reciprocity Live was a success, the photoshoot was a success and my overall trip in Dallas left me quite happy. I was able to Relax, Relate and Release, hugg a couple tree's and come back to Atlanta and grind it out... one more gin.

Maryjane and I made some sort of impact because I'm starting to get all the uber cool perks of being an indie artist. Like... blogs from strangers who feel what I'm saying and no longer want to be strangers. Am I excited? EXTRA EXCITED because the future tho not perfectly seen can't be bleak with people like these encouraging and loving my schtuff. I have wonder-filled people around me and positive energy seeping from the seams, it's almost surreal and now I've been inducted into the new era hippie movement.
Yea they took a little blood, made me sign my name in O+ ink and even had me make a vow of veganism... (coughs, huh? again? lol) but for what it's worth, now I'm official. So when you see me in my Hippie Maphia gear just SCREAM!!! and break out in a dance or sorts with me... If you don't I'll be disappointed.
Everyone is waiting for the next big thing. STOP WAITING ... WE HURR!!!

I left the studio briefly to go to an event that was being held for a new friend of mine. Ashley V. Reid. Ashley is doing her thing on the Atlanta scene. The pictures of me that you see plastered all over the net, she did them. (YAY!!!)
You should definitely check out her website to see her work. She has an eye like no one that I've met as of late and I was pleasantly surprised when she asked me to be one of the people for her site.

She was celebrating her article in the source, which I must say, if you haven't seen it, you should definitely look at your latest copy of the source and read about what's really going on. Today is a beautiful day, tomorrow will be better.
This is my motto for 2010 and it's happening just like that.
Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to meet some of the best producers in the game at Istandard which is an event that was done on 17 peachtree street. They doing it again tonight as well if you are in the area, you should definitely come through. The panel that judges these acts are The Justice League and Kevin Shine along with a very dope writer, I guess I should post pics huh? lol
I'm working on a new project.. yall go to youtube and check out some music I put up, this is something that I'm working on for a mixtape that I'm putting out with DJ Kal Cutta as the host and DJ Razzah doing all the scratches and FingerRoll engineering it.
With three original cuts on the mixtape 1,2,3 produced by FingerRoll, Lone Star produced by DJ Razzah and one other cut ... not sure which one its going to be yet, I'll keep you posted. Leave ya comments.. I love the feedback.
